[BACK STORY] :: Ling Ling was born in Mossdeep, Hoenn where she spent most of her life. As soon as she could walk, she would run around the island. Years past by and on her 10th birthday, she saw a little eevee in a box in the rain. She took it home and cared for it. She then got a growlithe for her 12th birthday from Professor Birch who was in the area; he thought she had good potential. Training both her Pokémon and herself, she decided to embark on a journey when she turned fifteen.
